Non-Union/Non-Paid. We have sought, and almost fully cast, a diverse 14 person cast of strong actor-singers who move well. This will be an ensemble driven, non-replica production of RENT. Looking for performers with a collaborative sense of play, a love for the material, and the freedom to see this show with a fresh set of eyes. Performers of all races, ethnicities, orientations, and gender identifications are encouraged to audition. Scheduled callback days and rehearsals will take place in person with company COVID-19 protocols in place. Once you’ve sent in your request for materials, we’ll send you the online audition form & music cut(s) ASAP and ask that you either record and submit for consideration or meet with us for an in-person audition. Reach out with any questions or follow-ups.


Open availability and flexibility is important for this project. Rehearsals begin May 15th and are scheduled to take place Sunday afternoons (1:00PM-5:00PM) and Monday, Wednesday, & Thursday evenings (7:00PM-10:30PM). All dates and times will be finalized prior to the start of rehearsals (May 15). For all rehearsals until July 9, actors will never be called for more than four hours without their prior approval. There may be slightly longer calls during the tech period (July 10-13), but all will be discussed and agreed upon on the first day of rehearsal.

Angel is a young drag artist and street percussionist who is HIV-positive. They meet and fall in love with Collins. Angel is the most generous and selfless character in the show–they embrace life and live it to the fullest. Seeking a magnetic actor who is a strong, well-rounded singer/actor/dancer. Some percussion skills are a plus but not required. Vocal Range: Tenor with Falsetto (C3-A4).


25-35, BIPOC/Latinx/AAPI preferred
Tom Collins is a computer genius, philosophy professor, and anarchist who was recently expelled from MIT. He is HIV-positive and a proud member of the ACT UP activism movement. Former roommate to Mark, Maureen, Roger, and Benny. Undeniably the coolest guy in the room. The performer playing this role must be an excellent singer and actor. Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor (F#2 – A4) One A4 for a short duration.
